Acuity's primary focus is on early-stage companies in the web-based software industry. We prefer web-based applications that have a sustainable competitive advantage, upwards of 50% founder ownership, and strong intellectual property. Here at Acuity we take a hands-on approach to our portfolio companies by not only ensuring management compatibility between ourselves the company but also by engaging Larry Hootnick as Shadow CEO. It is our philosophy to employ a “drip system” of cash infusion by providing funding in small increments rather than one lump sum. This system of funding minimizes out-of-control cash drains and forces day-to-day accounting. It is through this process of funding and guidance that Acuity coaches its portfolio companies to success. |
