A venture capital partnership initiative of Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, the four Atlantic Canadian provincial governments, seven Canadian chartered banks and one credit union. A capital budget of $30 million is available for investments in enterprises in the Atlantic Canada region that have a unique product, service or technology, strong growth potential and an experienced management team. ACF is a generalist fund with a strong focus on technology-based businesses. Retail and real estate sectors are specifically excluded from investments. ACF generally takes a minority equity interest and insists on active Board of Directors participation. Investments range from $250,000 to $3 million with the average first around investment targeted at $1,000,000.
